Additional Fence/Leash Requirements

Dear Neighbor,

The HOA Board met this week and one of the items discussed was an incident between two dogs. One was leashed, the other not. As a result of this incident, it has become abundantly clear there are numerous concerns around the safety of leashed dogs being walked within the community. Additionally, there have been additional concerns voiced regarding dogs within “invisible” fencing which abuts the sidewalk.

The Board has decided to implement a more comprehensive leash and fencing requirement for the neighborhood. The details of these new requirements will be amended into the Covenants and Restrictions which govern the HOA for Inspiration on Green Mountain, but the requirements take effect immediately:

  • The only leash acceptable is a secure, physical leash. Electric collars with controls do not comply with this definition of “leash”.
  • Every dog within the community shall be on a secure and physical leash when:
    • The dog is being walked within the community;
    • The dog is in the front yard of the owner’s property
  • Electric fences (e.g. Invisible Fencing), are only acceptable in rear yards (backyard areas) which are not bordered by sidewalks. Front yard electric fences are not allowed.

We hope these changes will bring peace of mind for all dog owners within the community.

Sincerely,

The HOA Board
